Yoga

Yoga, meaning union in Sanskrit, is an ancient spiritual practice, it originated in India, where it remains a vibrant living tradition.

In many parts of the world where yoga is popular, notably the West, Yoga has become associated with the asanas (postures) of Hatha Yoga, which are popularly considered as fitness exercises as well as providing benefits such as improved health, emotional well-being and mental clarity.

Contrary to what is commonly believed, the practice of Yoga asanas not only benefits your mind and emotions but regular practice definitely increases your level of fitness by toning, strengthening and elongating your whole body. Yoga is known as a complete form of exercise, each part of your body being addressed by the postures.

Manolo Santana Racquets Club offers daily Yoga classes with three highly qualified Yoga Teachers.

Pilates

Pilates is increasing its popularity rapidly. A form of exercise developed from the rehabilitation techniques of Joseph Pilates. Pilates is a safe and sensible exercise system using floor mats or special equipment, that will help you look and feel great. Pilates improves core strength, flexibility and agility.

Aerobics

Aerobics classes involve rapid stepping patterns, performed to music with cues provided by an instructor. Aerobic literally means "with oxygen", and refers to the use of oxygen in muscles' energy-generating process. Aerobic exercises are performed at moderate levels of intensity for extended periods of time, thereby maintaining an increased heart rate. In such exercise, oxygen is used to "burn" fat.

Expect to have fun and get fit with the Aerobic classes at Manolo Santana Wellness Studio.

Massage

Marjan is originally from Holland, but also lived for many years in Australia and New Zealand – where she began her training as a masseuse – before coming to settle on the Costa del Sol. Once in Spain she continued her studies at the Mistiyan Centre in Fuengirola under the tutelage of the late Anthony Jude Dodsworth.

As a holistic practitioner, Marjan believes in treating the whole person, body, mind and spirit. Her treatments include: Swedish Body Massage, Foot Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) Treatments.

Her treatments relieve stress and increase the wellbeing my clients - resulting in happy people, who will repeat this experience again and again.

Dance School

Fiona Jones is the director of the Dance School at the Manolo Santana Wellness Studio. All the teachers in the Fiona Jones School of Dance are fully qualified L.I.D.T.A (International Dance Teachers Association) members and the school provides yearly examination sessions for all the subjects.

Fiona Jones School of Dance offers classes in:
Ballet, Modern Jazz, Tap, Theatre Craft, Gymnastics, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop.

Most classes are categorized by subject and dance level/capability of the student. Classes for younger students are based on age groups.

Students from the Fiona Jones School of Dance are often asked to perform at Charity events giving the students the chance to showcase their talents in public.

Classes are paid by term, following the academic school year.
